📌quantify the amount of damage;
📌assess the accessibility conditions;
📌provide more accurate ground situation details to support the emergency responders for effective search and rescue missions, in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
Please read about the rapid, locally-led drone deployment exercise that we conducted in Melamchi in the following article. Major recommendations based on our learnings:
✅ Coordinated flight missions for safety as well as discouraging data duplications:
✅ National record of drones and professional drone pilots:
✅Equip Search and Rescue missions with modern sensor technologies:
✅Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
✅Data Sharing:
We would also like to urge the concerned departments and divisions at the Government of Nepal, Development Partners, and Humanitarian Organizations to support and prioritize the use of Frontier Technologies such as Drones for effective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management activities.
Moreover, Our team has Fixed-wing, Rotor wing as well as Hybrid Drones and can quickly deploy to cover drone-based activities over a large area. Most importantly, We have a network of experts in 30+ countries and if provided an opportunity by the government, we can work together in scaling these kinds of works to multiple regions of Nepal.
