Us Free Trade Agreement With Israel

Recognising that Israel`s economy is still developing and that it wishes to contribute to the harmonious development and expansion of world trade; The ESTV contains a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to remove barriers to trade in services such as tourism, communications, banking, insurance, business advice, accounting, law, IT services and advertising. It also contains an agreement to remove all restrictions on public procurement and calls on Israel to relax its compensation requirements for government authorities other than the Israeli Ministry of Defence. NOTE: Effective January 1, 1995, all tariffs on the vast majority of Israeli exports to the United States were eliminated. With regard to certain agricultural products, Israel retains, in accordance with existing WTO obligations, its full customs status for these products. In addition, for certain products defined in the U.S.-Israel agriculture trade agreement, signed on November 4, 1996, Israel benefits from duty-free quotas beyond WTO obligations. CUPE 116 collective agreement | Aquatic Centre Collective Convention UBC is organized in a number of staff groups and faculty with specific conditions and conditions to the job for each group. The Faculty Association celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020. It is not surprising that the issues we are currently facing are not foreign to our predecessors – academic freedom, justice, wages and equity, among many others. We have tried to condense the century of the association`s service to the faculty into a brief presentation that gives an overview of our history. The Faculty Association of the University of British Columbia was established in 1920 to facilitate members` social and employment relations with the university. The Faculty Association is now a registered, not-for-profit corporation established under the Societies Act in British Columbia. Since 2000, we have also been a voluntary union and the sole bargaining partner for our more than 3,200 members under the protection and rules of the B.C. Labor Relations Code. We therefore have a responsibility to represent all of our members in matters arising from the collective agreement and the collective relationship with the university, including the issues that constitute most of the conditions of the working relationship between a member and the university in general. As an exclusive bargaining partner for our members, we have the corresponding legal obligation under the Labour Code to fairly represent our members in all employment matters.

Whatever your request, the faculty association will do its best to help you. The faculty association also represents the interests of the faculty at UBC beyond the issues of the collective agreement. Section 16 of our collective agreement states that “nothing in the collective agreement should be construed as limiting the role of the faculties` association in representing the interests of its members at the university. The university recognizes that this role has traditionally gone beyond the issues to which the collective agreement refers and continues to develop. The terms and conditions of faculty members, librarians and directors of extended learning programs are governed by UBC guidelines and, where appropriate, by the collective agreement between UBC and the Faculty Association. The employees of Point Grey Campus as trades, food and hospitality services, technicians and research assistants, as well as in various positions covered by schedule A. CUPE 116`s CUPE 116 agreement, also represents aquatic Centre staff under a separate collective agreement. The UBC Faculty Association is committed to promoting the interests of UBC and UBC, the principles of academic freedom and freedom of discrimination and harassment are well advanced. UBCFA is the bargaining partner for all faculty members working at the University of British Columbia and governs relations between faculty members and the university through collective bargaining.
